This course will examine historically and religiously the symbiotic relationship between Jews and Christians from their origins. The course will critically re-examine the current Jewish-Christian scholarship on the issue of the "Parting of the Ways" 'i.e. separation between the two parties' by focussing on the complex and intricate relationship between Jews and Christians in antiquity, particularily with a focus on the Roman world. *Credit Restriction:* Credit may be obtained for only one of Religious Studies 383 or Biblical and Christian Studies 583 *Prerequisites:* 2nd year standing required *Further information:* Course availability and times
